MEET Heather
Heather has been practicing yoga for nearly 20 years and has been teaching for more than 10. She first turned to yoga when she was pregnant with her second child. For someone who had always exercised her physical body, she soon realized that exercising her mental body was equally, if not more important. Then one summer on a lake in New Hampshire she fell in love! She signed up for a Paddleboard Yoga class and the experience was pure magic. It took all of the serenity of a traditional yoga class and added the soothing and humbling element of water. As soon as she got back to her hometown of CT, she signed up to be a certified Paddle Fit Coach and researched Yoga teacher training programs. She received her 200 hour CYT certificate from Lotus Gardens and opened Downdog Paddle and Yoga. She ran SUP yoga classes for 7 years and many land based classes in between. Her style is focused on proper alignment and modifications for every level of practice.
Off the mat Heather has been an elementary school teacher for the past 24 years. She has 2 college aged sons and a daughter who is a highschool senior. She and her husband Pete and their 2 rescue pups live in Guilford. They love hikes with their family and their not so friendly Pickleball competitions!
